I opened up the carburetor today to clean the jets, but unfortunately they plugged back up shortly afterward. At this point, I’m considering replacing the Hitachi with either a Weber or an Aisin carburetor.
There are also adapters available for running a Holley carburetor designed for a 318, so that’s another possibility. Ultimately, I’ll probably go with whatever I can get my hands on soonest, as long as it’s a good fit and works well for my needs.
